Bandholm Harbour is a meeting place for local residents. They stroll down to the harbour on a daily basis to enjoy the view and see if any new ships have come in. Active commercial harbours are interesting. The locals chat with the people they meet, walk around the marina and rowing club and often end up taking a break by the public baths that are 130 years old. From the baths, you can see out over the sea and out to the islands of Askø, Lindholm and Skidtø. Skidtø" meaning "dirt island" is officially called Havneø, or harbour island, but it will never shake off its local nickname. The island was formed by all the earth excavated to make the inner harbour. "
