The countess's glassworks expands

Holmegaard Manor is east of Fensmark in Holme Olstrup Parish near Næstved. The property at Holmegaard Bog was originally built in the Middle Ages. In 1635, Admiral of the Fleet Claus Daa built the two-storey half-timbered main building. In 1675, Prefect Otto Krabbe was granted home farm rights on the estate with privileges such as being exempt from taxes. In 1825, Countess Dowager Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe opened a glassworks on the estate near Fensmark Church. The glassworks mushroomed like a suburb of Fensmark with glassblowers and glass workers from Bohemia, France and later Yugoslavia, among others. Today, the factory near Fensmark moulds glass for packaging. The art glass is manufactured by Rosendahl abroad.
