Heritage Agency of Denmark has an annual operating budget of approximately DKK 80 million for payroll expenditure, administration, information activities, publications, etc.

The Heritage Agency also receives running fixed subsidies amounting to approximately DKK 25 million, which is earmarked for special purposes.

In addition, the Heritage Agency administers subsidies in excess of DKK 460 million. Most of these funds, DKK 320 million in total, are granted as fixed operational subsidies for state-subsidised museums in Denmark.

In addition, the museums may apply to the Heritage Agency for a portion of the approximately DKK 83 million that is earmarked for special projects.

Almost DKK 42 million is reserved for allocation by the Heritage Agency to owners of listed buildings for the funding of restoration projects.

Finally, the Heritage Agency administers a pool of DKK 13 million, from which private property developers may be granted funding for statutory archaeological investigations.
