The role of the Heritage Agency of Denmark in CARARE

The Heritage Agency participates in CARARE in three different roles:

  • As ‘lead partner’. This means that the Heritage Agency in close collaboration with the British MDR Partners has the overall responsibility for the project and the control of finances in relation to EU and collaboration partners.
  • As responsible for work package. The Heritage Agency is responsible for the work package that is to describe the collections supplied by the partners to Europeana (both technically and in terms of content), choose a chart for data exchange and establish the technical procedure.
  • As content supplier. Within the framework of CARARE, the Heritage Agency plans to supply data from the databases ‘Sites and Monuments’, which contains information about the localised archaeological cultural heritage, and ‘Danish Buildings’, which contains information about all listed buildings and buildings that are worthy of preservation in Denmark.
